India Gate – Parade on Rajpath and President Obama’s Visit  It is easy to get lost in Delhi whether you are in Old Delhi ki Galiyan  or circling around the power circles of Lutyens’ Delhi. Did the naming pundits forgot that Democracy succeeded by trampling Raj under the callused feet of masses? And once the Raj fell like a pack of cards or should I say Humpty Dumpty, [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Walking Talking and Photographing Delhi Heritage in Mehrauli So how many Delhi cities you know? If you are a Muggle like me you may say 2, New Delhi and Old Delhi. But if you read historians they will give you a lot more than just 2 cities of Delhi. From the mythological Indraprastha to the modern New Delhi there were many cities in between. The Dhillika or Tomars, Jahanpanah and Tughlaqabad built by an emperor who is either called an idiot or a genius depending on whose version you want to listen, but everybody agrees on his tyranny.   A [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Delhi Street Art: Agrasen Ki Baoli While we were walking towards the Agrasen Ki Baoli just before the entrance to the famed step well of Delhi we found some excellent Street Art on the wall opposite to the Baoli or Step Well. I am not sure who the artists/s are but with this blog post let me salute the street artists of Delhi who are doing their bit to revive the city center in Connaught Place. At this stage it will be good if you check my earlier post about Delhi Street  Art in Shankar Market, Connaught Place before going [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

A Visit To Agrasen Ki Baoli in New Delhi

Is Agrasen Ki Baoli A Haunted Stepwell in Delhi? I was standing on the last step of Agrasen or Ugarsen Ki Baoli and looking at all the skyscrapers surrounding the hundreds of year old Stepwell when some pigeons decide to punctuate the blue sky. As if by reflex I press the shutter button trying to freeze their flight forever. Today when we open a tap we expect clean drinking water that originated thousands of miles away in some Himalayan glacier or has been hiding in an abyss hundreds of meters deep. India my motherland is a land of so many [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Book Review: Warrior by Olivier Lafont

Mythological Thriller and a Sci Fi Journey: Warrior by Olivier Lafont Mythology is a very tricky subject that can ignite passions like nothing else especially in a country like India. Warrior the first novel by Olivier Lafont takes the mythological novel to the next level and keeps you in a world that makes you travel not just around India but to many dimensions that most of us never even have thought about. All this while the author handles the subject with clinical precision and poetic passion without falling in the grand canyon that divides faith and science and comes up with [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Birds, Bees, Flowers and Nature Watch at Pushkar Resorts Rajasthan

Nature watch at Pushkar Resorts Rajasthan: About Birds Bees and Flowers Most people associate Rajasthan with colors, palaces and forts, or with Tigers in Ranthambore, but let us not forget that Rajasthan is also the hotspot for some of the best birding activity in India, both Bharatpur and Tal Chapar is well known within birding circles. Now the purists may frown on me as some of the pictures you will see in this post are of domesticated fowl and some of common birds that we take for granted or totally ignore. But this ignorance was the cause of loss [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]
