Incredible India

India Travel Blog with travel tips, stories, food and pictures of travel around India. There is so much to experience in Incredible India that one life time is just not enough. No wonder we Indians believe in reincarnation so that we can visit India again and again to cherish the billion things India has to offer from  Ghats of Varanasi to beaches of Goa and the Colors of Rajasthan to the fragrance of spices in Gods own country Kerala.  Even after visiting more than 22 states in India, I have not seen even the tip of iceberg. I continue to explore my country and share my experiences of Incredible India on my family travel blog from India as we explore one place at a time by road, by trains and by flying to the various corners of India. Come join me on this incredible Journey in Incredible India from the the snow clad Ladakh in Himalayas to the french enclave of Pondicherry in south as we go covering India from festivals to food and everything in between.

Birds Around Us in Hyderabad

Birds around  us give happiness without any expectations As part of my project to photograph birds around  us our apartment complex  I have clicked photos of the bird that visit the complex. I spoke to the Customer Service team of the complex and we are collaborating to install some bird nests and bird feeders build by Nature Forever Society, whose founder Mohammad Dilawar was featured in Time Magazine some time back. The idea is to try to provide a habitat to these birds so that they keep on coming to the complex. I have been able to spot the [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

A Visit to Medak Church, Fort and Pocharam Sanctuary

Road Trip to Medak From Hyderabad With GHAC The Medak Cathedral The joys of travel are hard to explain, words cannot capture the thrill of discovering new lands, photos struggle to do justice to the bounty of nature. Yet here I am trying to write a blog about an incredible travel. I guess the next best thing to travel to distant lands is to write and share the stories of falling in love again and again with the places one discover. I specially enjoy driving trips as they give me both flexibility and control not only on the destination [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Essence Of Old Hyderabad

We are getting  more and more alienated with our roots and forgetting our heritage, so every once in a while I get a bug to visit old city of Hyderabad to connect to the glorious past of the city. So this Saturday with a group  of TCPC  shutterbugs we decided to visit the old city behind the  Salarjung museum. The meeting point was Darush Shifa Jamia Masjid which has  pure white  presence in sea of color around it. I have never been in this part of the city and was very excited about the visit.  The group leader Rahul [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Bird watching in Hyderabad At ICRISAT- part II

We again visited ICRISAT campus with Purushotham Rudraraju  who was leading the GHAC group. ICRISAT is one of the best places for Bird Watching in Hyderabad. Today was not a very successful day from clicking photographs of the birds point of view even though we spotted 50+ species of the birds in the ICRISAT Campus. The lake that was brimming with water last month was almost empty and most of the water birds have already left. The branches of the tree that used to bend due to the weight of the birds was mostly deserted. Hopefully this year we will [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Hiking in Peerancheru Boulders

Today in the morning I went for hiking in Peerancheru boulders near our apartment with a GHAC group. My wife was kind enough to make a cup of tea for me at 6 am in the morning.  We both had the tea together and then I left for the meeting point with the GHAC group that was coming.  We started the day with the introduction round by forming the circle and Shraddha the group leader gave instructions like: ·         No littering, ·         No talking loudly or disturbing any birds or animals in area ·         No breaking away from the group etc. Under [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Night Trekking In Ananthagiri Hills Vikarabad

A Family Trip For Trekking in Ananthagiri Hills Vikarabad   We keep on going on vacations but most of the vacations with kids are sightseeing trips where you try to force fill 5 points on the local guide’s agenda into your day. More time is spent in posing for pictures than to soak the beauty around and then we buy things that are factory made but are peddled as either local handicraft or tribal art. This changed last December; we participated in a family night out with GHAC or Great Hyderabad Adventure Club for trekking in Ananthagiri hills Vikarabad. [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Valentines Day-What gift to choose?

The Valentines day is coming and that brings my annual agony to forefront once again. I have never been able to understand what the fuss is all about both to celebrate it as well as to oppose it. It is definitely not an Indian festival or for that matter even a festival, it is a 100% marketing noise created by card and candy companies. But if people are willing to spend money to claim their love for somebody then why do some political parties have objection to it? They should first teach a few lessons on morality to their [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

View From Our Balcony

The tallest building I have been on top is Sears towers (now Willis Tower) in Chicago many moons ago. Though it was a cloudy day the view was still breathtaking, 2 years later I went to the top of Eiffel Tower in Paris, France and again was mesmerized by the view. (I was also cheated by a photographer there, but that is another blog post) So when we moved to Mumbai after marriage I was looking for the tallest building to live which I could afford, finally we moved to 20th floor of an apartment complex that had a breathtaking view [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Some Pics From Morning Walk

Every once in a while I get Josh to get up and take a morning walk, this urge has been getting stronger ever since we moved to our new home. The apartment complex is surrounded by greenery and a small lake that is still alive with fish and other creatures which attract a lot of birds. Morning Sun Reflecting At The Entrance To Complex The Sun Slowly Rising Behind the Lake Some days back I clicked some pictures from my phone while taking a morning walk that I am pasting here. As you will see while Mother Nature is [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]
