Right in the concrete jungle of Cyberabad, Hitech city Madhapur there is an Oasis of Shilparamam, built on the same lines as Delhi Haat. It is conveniently located in the Cybercity so it is common to find IT professionals in the complex with their expat clients taking a dekko at the wares on display.
Shilparmam is worth a visit with your family and friends. It is a gated rural theme market with artisans from different part of the country selling their ware in open Haat kind of shops. The artisans and the ware they bring keeps on changing so if you like to buy handmade stuff it is a good idea to keep on checking it in once every few months.
Huge sculptors greet you at the gate and inside just at the entrance the crafts village starts,  you get most of the handicrafts that have become popular in India and abroad:
  • 1.        Madhubani Paintings
  • 2.       Khurja Pottery
  • 3.       Bandhini dresses
  • 4.       Hyderabadi Pearls
  • 5.       Muradabai Brass ware
home decor items made of sea shells
Sea Shell Work From Kerala

The management of the complex need to work on maintaining it a little better. I am not sure how come after charging 25 Rs for entry and 20 for parking they are unable to maintain even working toilets in a complex where thousands of people visit every month, when you compare this with malls where entry is free still you get clean toilets. The other nuisance in the complex is around 50+ stray dogs, so if you have small kids with you please be extra careful as they can be hostile at times to kids. Overall a good experience if you are looking at a relaxing evening combined with some shopping and mouth watering food. Here is a more detailed post on what to do in Shilparmamam
Thanks for reading.
