Restoration of Gobindgarh Fort : A heritage reclaimed On all my previous visits to Amritsar, I wanted to visit Gobindgarh fort, but each time I was discouraged by anybody whom I asked for directions “ Gobindgarh Fort ? Train To Pakistan

When we traveled to see Pakistan We were debating where to go on our next holiday and it soon turned into a heated debate as always. Finally, I said let us take a train to Pakistan and show you the land of your ancestors, to the missus. You see her parents were born in pre-partition India and she sometimes wishes to go and see the village where here forefathers lived. But she brushed this aside as another joke of mine. Jallianwala Bagh Memorial Amritsar

  Jallianwala Bagh  Memorial Amritsar Today is Baisakhi, one of the few festivals in India that follows the solar calendar, the other one being Sankranti. Both are in a way related to the change of season and bumper crops. But Baishakhi also has a place in the freedom struggle of India. It was on this day April 13, 1919, that hundreds of innocent Indians, participating in a meeting in the famous Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar were butchered by the troops on order by Brigadier-General Reginald E.H.
