Foreign Trips

My account of the traveling to foreign lands. Some of the countries I have visited are USA, UK, France, Netherlands, Nepal, Jordan, Switzerland, Thailand, Hong Kong, Indonesia etc. When I visit a foreign land I am like a kid in a candy store trying to see, taste, and bring back as many memories as possible. I try to not only share about the places I visit in the countries I go but also my connect with the people, history, culture and food of the countries visited. Come join desi Traveler around the globe. In the process I share pictures of the countries I visit, with a special focus on the people and culture of the place along with the best places to visit.

desi Attends The Thailand Tourism Festival 2017

Thailand Tourism Festival 2017 Highlights I have a soft corner for Amazing Thailand for more reasons than one. After marriage, Thailand was our first foreign trip and we visited Phuket, Pattaya, and Bangkok. This was long before I started this hobby travel blog better known as desi Traveler. One fine day I received a call from TAT New Delhi inviting me to Thailand on a media trip. Thus Thailand became my first foreign trip as a blogger giving me a chance to visit the amazing country once again and my fondness for Thailand only increasing. But there was more [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Getting lost in Arborek Tourism Village Raja Ampat Indonesia

A Visit to Arborek Tourism Village Raja Ampat Papua Indonesia Every travel blogger worth his Sodium chloride has at some time or other said or wanted to say “How I Quit My Job To Travel The World “ and those peddling the halofied universe of Solo Travel have said it with a shovel of Iodized Sodium Chloride. London Calling - Chalo London with BA

Never been a better time to visit London With BA “Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford”, these words of Samuel Johnson were resonating in my ears when I first landed in London, the first thing I wanted to visit was Royal Kew Botanical Gardens. Not your everyday destination for a desi Traveler you may wonder. That is the beauty of London in my eyes, even for an offbeat destination like a Botanical Garden; Kew receives more than 1.3 million visitors every year. [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Hindu Temple Festival Parade Bali Indonesia

Apsara Spotting: Temple Festival Parade Bali Indonesia I was in my carb induced coma when I overheard it seems there is a traffic jam in front.  Lazily I opened my eyes but when I looked on the road, along with my eyes my mouth also opened and my jaw remained a prisoner of gravity.  Right in the middle of the road, on the sidewalk and almost in every direction I could see Apsaras.   I must be dreaming I told myself and tried to close my eyes, but my neuromotor coordination hit rock bottom, partly due to what I was [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Watching Sunrise at Borobudur - UNESCO World Heritage Site Indonesia

Watching Sunrise at Borobudur Temple Indonesia Carefully I watch each of my steps as I try to climb the steep stairs in pitch darkness. Pitch darkness as I am trying my best ignoring the countless light sabres around me to find the path. Luckily these sabres are so weak that their undernourished beam dies before hitting the stone steps of the largest Buddhist temple in the world Borobudur in the largest Muslim nation in the world. Well, that is Indonesia for you, every step you take you to learn something astonishing about this country of more than 17,000 islands [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Trip of Wonders to Indonesia on Instagram

My Indonesia Trip of Wonders on Instagram If you follow me on Instagram then you would have noticed I was on Trip of Wonders in Wonderful Indonesia on an invitation of  Ministry of Tourism Indonesia.  It was an overwhelming experience in every single way. Though I had known a few things about Indonesia, I must admit I had very limited knowledge about Indonesia before my visit.  But Indonesia surprised me in more ways than one. By population, Indonesia is the largest Muslim nation in the world ( India is second largest ), but Indonesia is also home to the largest [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Download November 2016 Desktop Wallpaper Calendar- Grand Palace Bangkok

The Grand Palace Bangkok on November 2016 Calendar Wallpaper The November 2016 Calendar showcases the  Grand Palace Bangkok has clicked in November a few years ago when I visited Bangkok for the second time on the invitation of the Tourism Authority of Thailand. I have saved this image for November of this  year. But while I am happy to share this image, I am equally sad as King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the longest-serving monarch in the world has left for his heavenly abode.  King Bhumibol was the 9th King of Chakri dynasty and was also known as Rama IX. I think [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]
