Selfie Expert OPPO F1 a Bright and Beautiful Camera Phone
India is one of the hottest smart camera phone market in the world with her young, upwardly mobile middle class embracing mobile with great panache. No wonder all the global camera phone companies are vying for a chunk of this lucrative yet highly competitive market. Not only Indian consumers are tech savvy they also want the latest products at a very competitive price. So these are very interesting times for the Smartphone market in India.
Last week I attended the launch of Bright & Beautiful, #SelfieExpert, #OPPOF1 Camera Phone from OPPO Mobile in Mumbai. The launch function was held at JW Marriot Hotel near Mumbai Airport, Sahar in Mumbai.
There were more than 200 bloggers, journalists, celebrities who attended the launch of latest phone from OPPO. We reached Mumbai a day in advance and were privy to some behind the scene preparations of the venue. The stage, the mobile display arena and the photographs clicked on the Bright and Beautiful Selfie Expert OPPO F1 by Bollywood Celebrity photographer Rohan Shrestha were being fixed by the workers. Rohan has gone out in Mumbai streets and clicked the vibrant city that never sleeps with a Bright and Beautiful #SelfieExpert #OPPOF1 and the results were stunning capture of the life in Bombay.
But I must say these guys did an awesome job and by the time we reached the venue in morning, everything looked spick and span or should I say Bright and Beautiful?
The official launch of the phone was done in presence of top management of OPPO, who have specially come to India for the launch of the product along with their India team.
As the Emcee requested Mr Sky Li, OPPO Global VP, MD of International Mobile Business and President of OPPO India to come on the stage and unveil the phone, we kept our cameras ready to click the pictures. Mr. Li won many hearts in the room and a thunderous applause with his big bow to the audience along with a very charming – “Namaste”. This wonderful gesture from Mr. Li was highly appreciated by everybody present in the hall. It also gave a clear message to us that the OPPO team is in India for a long run and has done their homework about the market and the people of India.
Once Mr. Sky Li has announced about the details of the Bright and Beautiful Selfie Expert OPPO F1, MR. Mr. David Richardson, Chief Executive of International Cricket Council (ICC) came on stage to talk about the global partnership of ICC with OPPO mobile. As any desi cricket lover will know there is truly only one sport with mass appeal in India and that is cricket with this master stroke of a tie up with ICC for global partnership OPPO phones are bound to make great inroads in Indian market. Mr. Li and Mr. Richardson were joined by Aditi Arya, Femina Miss India 2015 on stage, for launch of the phone and clicked some selfies with the newly launched Bright and Beautiful OPPO F1.
Mr. Sky Li and Mr. Richardson answered some questions about the partnership, the OPPO F1 and the future plans of OPPO as a corporate and then we got to check the phone in the specially created experience zone to test and touch feel the new Selfie Expert, Bright and Beautiful OPPO F1.
Post lunch I was given a phone to test ( on returnable basis ), so I decided to take the phone out on beach in Mumbai and in the evening headed towards the Aksa beach in Malad. Unfortunately by the time I reached Aksa beach it was already dark but this is where some of the features of the OPPO F1 came in handy. As the phone comes with a 13 MP, f 2.0 front camera clicking pictures in the low light was not a problem and I clicked some vendors and stalls on the beach that were still open.
As I was staying close to the Aksa beach I visited the beach again in the morning to click some more pictures on the beach with the Bright and Beautiful Selfie Expert OPPO F1. Here are some of the pictures I clicked on the beach with the OPPO F1 camera phone. Most of these pictures clicked by the OPPO F1 are straight out of camera with only minimal editing like cropping, adjusting color and exposure just a bit and adding watermark. I am especially pleased with the pictures clicked in the night of the Bhutta ( corn on the cob ) seller on the Aksa Beach.
This picture below is of the Kala Khatta seller on the Aksa beach, he was a bit shy to get clicked and was a typical poser, who gets stiff when they know they are being clicked.
I also clicked some pictures of whatever was happening on the beach and they can be seen above.
While going back to the airport, I clicked some random pictures of a street vendor from the auto and finally some pictures of my auto driver Mr. Sarvan Kumar Pandey, have a look
I have experimented with the Bright and Beautiful OPPO F1 Selfie Expert Camera Phone and it has some cool features inside the camera functionality like
- Slow Shutter Speed that can go up to 16 seconds ( you may want to use a tripod at such slow shutter speed )
- Multiple Exposure
- Ultra HD
- Beautify 3.0
- Various Filters
- Time lapse and many more functions
I am yest to try some of these functions as I have had the OPPO F1 only for 2 days as of now. May be if I get to keep the phone longer I may post more pictures of the same.

The F1 also features a 13 MP rear camera with an ISOCELL sensor, the phase detection auto-focus (PDAF) with a focus time of just 0.1s, and the anti-shake optimization feature which enables the camera to automatically select the clearest image from a huge buffer of image data the moment the shutter button is pressed.
OPPO F1 sales is going to start from 4th to 6th Feb, where 8 – 9 celebrities will visit the stores and it will also be available online.
What is in the box:
- OPPO F1
- Micro USB cable
- Earphones ( Both earphones and charger come in soothing Ivory White )
- SIM ejector tool
- Case ( I really liked this, as new phone cases take some time to appear in market, and by that time you already have some scratches on phone )

As you said, the returnable basis is what I am not liking about the phone. 🙂
You made good use of being in Mumbai. 🙂
Thanks.. wish I could spend more time in Bombay… 🙂
Beautiful pics with OPPO F1, Great to read.
Thanks Rupam da
Hey the pictures are really impressive especially the ones in the dark. That’s where most camera phones don’t do such a swift job. How about other types of pictures — HD, Panorama etc. What about the ease of editing the pics and modes on the camera phone?
Thanks Rachna… I am trying the other modes, but due to lack of time just tried a few so far. Let us see if the phone is with me for some more days will sure give a detailed review of other modes in the OPPO F1
Lovely images specially the low light ones!
Thanks Deepak Sir..
Beautiful set of pictures and the night quality is great too! The last picture (alongwith that caption) is simply adorable. Glad to know you had such a wonderful time in Bombay! 🙂
