The Selfie of Ravan Maker

That I love to travel is not a secret.  Not only distant dream destinations, I love to explore my own city also. For last few years it is my ritual to click pictures of Ravana under construction in Tatarpur and Tagore Garden area of West Delhi.  Right under the blue line of metro you can see Ravans under construction of all shape and sizes. Like every year I reached the Ravan market of Delhi and was trying to click pictures of Ravans under various stages of completion. There were Ravan heads lying on ground, with only one eye made, nearby [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Pictures of Super Blood Moon

My experience of clicking Super Blood Moon in India Moon is our closest neighbor and satellite.  Moon is also the heavenly body in space where humans traveled to in a spaceship, so I guess I can write about Moon on my travel blog:). I write this post with great disappointment as I could not get the pictures I wanted.  The bigger reason for disappointment is not because I could not get pictures but because I did not research properly before going out to click on pictures. You see I was happy with the pictures I clicked of the last Blood [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Indian Photography Festival Hyderabad

Block your calendar from 1st to 10th October for Indian Photography Festival  A vibrant city has more to it than just buildings and monuments and skylines. A vibrant city is full of life, great food,  wonderful people who actively engage in intellectual discussion and action about making the city even better.  I have always taken pride in Indian cities showcasing their cultural and artistic side and written about Kochi Muziris Biennale, Street Art in Delhi and even about Numaish in Hyderabad that is a one of its kind cultural and Business fair. So I was very happy to learn that [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Petra By Night - Playing With Lights & Shadows in Jordan

Petra By Night : A Fairy Tale In Arabian Nights     As I start my second walk to the Monastery in Petra during the day  I was wondering how different can Petra by night would be from Petra during the day ? I am trying to pace myself to the Al Khazneh  (Treasury ) not to rush as there is no light on the path, that is if you do not count the countless candles, flickering inside brown paper bags that caress the Siq, the natural creek in the rugged mountain that has hidden the city of Petra [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Get more likes on Instagram and Facebook on your Travel Photographs The Times They Are a-Changin,  Said good old Boby Dylan and we took him very seriously.  Nothing is untouched by the change happening around us. Travel photography or more correctly the family travel photography has changed beyond recognition. There was a time when we will go on a holiday with one auto shoot camera with 2 or may be 3 rolls of Kodak Film. Your aim was not just to capture the essence of the place but also your family moments. Like they say two birds with one stone.  Clicking [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

desi Traveler Goes To Kunzum Pass

A Day At Kunzum Pass: My experience & pictures from Kunzum La So desi Traveler went to Kunzum, or rather I should say I passed from Kunzum Pass on my way to and back from Spiti. You need to pass two main passes on the way to Spiti, via Manali one is Rohtang La and second is Kunzum La. Technically, height wise Kunzum is bigger and higher and better to photograph. But Rohtang is more notorious as it is closer to Manali and our tourists are happy to visit it after hours of struggling in traffic and then play in [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Arabian Nights at Feynan Eco Lodge Jordan - Review

Sustainable EcoTourism in Jordan: Feynan Eco Lodge in Dana Biosphere Reserve Jordan By the time you realize that the Arabian Nights has 1000s of tales you are hooked. One story leads to another and there are so many subplots that you can keep whole of Hollywood and Bollywood directors busy in making movies on them, such is the complexity of these simple tales that in the end connect you to the world that now only exists in fairy tales or in pockets of exotica like Petra, Wadi Rum, and Feynan Eco Lodge. If you are like me you may [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

A shy photographer’s guide to clicking people : My experience in people photography

How to overcome  your fear of photographing people on your travels   A few days ago I wrote a post where I shared how I overcame my fear of clicking strangers on my travels and slowly started clicking people during my travels. This has really helped me as a travel photographer as I believe travel photography is incomplete without clicking people. Below is the article with a link to the original one that was published on The Alternative. I travel when possible, and I love to click pictures of people who I see on the streets. The challenge that I [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]
