Jet Airways - A Trip Down The Memory Lane

Is It Final Landing For Jet Airways?   Just a couple of hours ago, I read a tweet that today will be the last flight of Jet Airways. I could not believe my eyes. I am no financial analyst to know in and out of Jet Airways’ inside numbers, nor do I claim to be in the know of the latest happenings in the world of aviation. But I have many fond memories of Jet Airways that are coming back as this sad news sinks in. After the turbulent start of private airlines in India, we had seen many [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Dubai with flydubai Business Class

My experience of flying Delhi To Dubai with flydubai Business Class   Dubai has indeed become a gateway to the Middle East and beyond. The world class infrastructure and excellent connectivity make Dubai first choice for point of entry to the Middle East and even Europe etc. I have passed from Dubai Airport en-route to the USA many times but never been inside the city. So when flydubai, the budget carrier from Dubai invited me to join them for Arabian Travel Market was looking forward to seeing Dubai on the sidelines of Arabian Travel Market.  My flight to Dubai [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Bangkok Airways - Asia's Boutique Airline

A desi Review of Bangkok Airways Thailand is a very spread out country from mountains in the north over mainland to hundreds of Tropical Island in the Bay of Bengal, the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea. Each of these tropical islands is more pristine than the next.  In my last visit to Thailand, I visited Koh Chang in the eastern Thailand. We took a Bangkok Airways flight to Trat, the nearest airport to Koh Chang.  This post is about my experience of flying with Bangkok Airways that take pride in calling itself “Asia’s Boutique Airline”. First let me [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

London Calling - Chalo London with BA

Never been a better time to visit London With BA “Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford”, these words of Samuel Johnson were resonating in my ears when I first landed in London, the first thing I wanted to visit was Royal Kew Botanical Gardens. Not your everyday destination for a desi Traveler you may wonder. That is the beauty of London in my eyes, even for an offbeat destination like a Botanical Garden; Kew receives more than 1.3 million visitors every year. [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Lufthansa "Announce Your Flight Contest" And the Winner is

Lufthansa’s first in-flight announcement by a kid I am big on family travel and love traveling with my children. So I could never agree with the debate in flying circles that families with kids should be sent to the back of the plane and other such ideas floating around. We, Indians, are anyway big on traveling with family including kids and now with so many Indian families traveling to far away destinations, one is always looking for a kid-friendly airline. We have enjoyed our VVIP moments, thanks to our children, when a smiling airline hostess has asked us to jump [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

British Airways Wins hearts with an emotional campaign

A Bond That is Fuelled by Love    First a loving memory: I have always had a deep bond and touching memories for the British Airways as me and wife jee went to London and further in Europe in a British Airways flight and we had a jolly good time. Needless to say we were given a Royal treatment throughout the flight, with the head of cabin crew herself coming and greeting us during the course of our flight to London from Delhi. Now British Airways have flown to India for more than 90 years and has deep bond with flyers [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

One Night At Bangalore Airport

Bangalore Airport at Night Not in very distant past, I had to spend a night at Bangalore airport, not that I wanted to but I had to.  I was returning from Singapore, as I was on a sponsored trip by Tiger Air so they have booked me via Bangalore from where they fly to Singapore Changi Airport. I had a layover for 5-6 hours before my connecting flight.  Long story short I had an early morning flight from Bangalore or Bengalururro or Bengalorouo or whatever the polishitians politicians have named the garden city, either way, they have screwed up the [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

A Resort in an Airport: Koh Samui ( USM )

Why I liked Koh Samui Airport and you too would   The moment I got my Visa on Arrival at Suvarnabhumi airport we rushed towards our connecting flight to Koh Samui a tropical island in the Gulf of Thailand. It is a short flight from Bangkok and soon the land gave way to turquoise waters of Gulf of Thailand below and the azure heavens above us. The clouds were playing hide and seek and from the height of 30000 + feet Bangkok Airlines jet was flying, it was tough to say where the kingdom of Zeus ended and the [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

How The World Was Shrunk By Air Travel For a long time the world out there was a big bad world, full of dangers lurking in every corner. Air travel shrunk the world many times over as no longer one had to travel from dangerous deserts, endure rain forest or conquer the waves  taking weeks if not months to go from one place to another. Air travel changed everything, once the first Jet planes took off going anywhere in the world became a matter of hours. Indeed today you can travel to any two airports in less than 48 [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]
