How Did Lombok Beach Club Become So Popular?
Sandy beaches, golden sunsets, and beautiful landscapes have long drawn visitors to Indonesia. For tourists, Bali is often the most common stop with its rich Hindu influenced culture, beautiful landscapes, spicy food, and so much more. But Lombok, particularly Lombok Beach, has become increasingly popular over the years as people have discovered all that it has to offer. It isn’t just the gorgeous turquoise waves lapping at the pearl sanded shores, though. Luxury Lombok Beach Club at Karma offers an opportunity for tourists to dive deep into adventure, nature, and culture while still enjoying them. Here are some of the most common reasons that the Lombok Beach Club has become so popular over the years.
Relaxation on the Beach
As with many Karma Resorts, the Beach Club has an ideal location right on the beach. It’s rumored to catch some of the best sunsets in all of Senggigi. While the weather is always quite warm, the wet season becomes particularly humid through November and March. The dry season is considered a little more pleasant. But with water temperatures typically remaining somewhere in the low to mid 80s, it is almost always relaxing.
Scuba Diving and Snorkeling for the Sight of a Lifetime
Ask any traveling scuba diver or snorkeler what his favorite location is, and he will probably list Indonesia. Approximately 25 percent of the world’s reefs are located here, and there are more than 3500 different species of marine wildlife. The Indian Ocean is rich with shimmering fish shoals, glistening coral reefs, and dazzling underwater treasures. Dive Advice describes Indonesia as a “macro photographer’s ultimate fantasy.” Nothing compares to seeing the incredible creatures that live in this remote part of the world. Guests can scuba dive or snorkel near the island of Lombok or strike farther out. In some of the drop offs, you can see anywhere from 50 – 100 feet down below.
It’s an exciting time to be out in this area as Scuba Diving reports that divers discover new underwater flora and fauna regularly. They caution against trying to cram all of your diving into a single day. You’ll need at least a couple to sample even a tiny portion of all these waters have to offer. You can rent gear and receive training as well as guides to make the experience safer and even more enjoyable.
Surfing Your Way to Great Memories
Surf Trips reports that Indonesia is the traveling surfer’s dream location. Bali, in particular, draws a substantial crowd for its curling waves and pleasant temperatures. However, Lombok, located just east of Bali, has excellent surf as well. It is not so crowded as Bali, and it has excellent inlets and break points for surfers of all skill levels. Some of the most popular include Seger Reef, Air Guling, Gerupuk, Tanjung Aan, Mawun, and Selong Belanok. Some of these may require short boat trips to read shoals and breaks, but private and public charters are available at all the key locations. Your resort can help you book this, and there are trainers available for beginners and experts alike.
With so many options for surfing, you can probably find a location that won’t be as crowded. However, the Lonely Planet recommends visiting during the dry season for the best waves. This season runs from May to October approximately. Tribord suggests taking 6′ or 6’5″ boards for the best ride. Or you can rent one from a surf shop. Remember that while the resort has luxury bungalows, it also has backpacker rooms for travelers on a budget who won’t be on the resort property as much as those in search of a luxurious indulgence.
Enjoy Other Outdoor Activities
Obviously, one of the biggest things that draw people to Lombok as well as the Lombok Beach Club is all of the outdoor activities. Surfing and scuba diving take most of the focus, but don’t forget about the banana boats, water skiing, and jet skiing. All of these allow you to take in the tropical wonders of the island while making fantastic memories. You can even go parasailing if you’d like a bird’s eye view of the lush jungles, jagged cliffs, and peaceful beaches.
It’s best to plan on at least a few days if you intend to visit Lombok. Even with the Beach Club’s convenient location, it takes time and energy to see the wondrous wildlife and beautiful landscapes. Whether you intend to surf or dive or snorkel or engage in some wonderful outdoor activities, you’ll have plenty of options. And, of course, you’ll have the perfect place to relax and recuperate. All of these reasons contribute to the Beach Club’s growing popularity. You’ll be in for some great adventures here and plenty of sights you’ll have to see to believe.
