Babul Tree in Sarson Ke Khet - Rural Gurgaon

The Tree of Life: In Sarson Ke Khets of Gurgaon   Don’t get me wrong, I am aware that the tree of life is a mythical tree depicted in art that transcends religion from Jainism, Buddhism, Hindusism and even some of the Abrahamic religions like Islam show the Tree of Life in various art forms ranging from Jali work in mosques to miniature paintings.  But for me every tree is a ” Tree of Life “, and nothing symbolises this more than this Babul or Acacia tree that grows around Delhi / Gurgaon and various parts of Aravalis. Now you [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Sultanpur National Park Gurgaon -Trip Report

My Latest Visit To Sultanpur National Park February 2019 Why I am writing a post about a visit to Sultanpur National Park that I did in February 2019 in April? Trust me this is not due to my recent lazy traveler avatar ( actually it is more of a lazy blogger as I am traveling a bit only not writing that much ) I have totally lost track of the number of times I have been to Sultanpur Wildlife Sanctuary and in last few years each trip has been more saddening than the last one. From the winding road [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

A Visit to Annamrita Food Relief Foundation Mid Day Meal Base Kitchen in Gurgaon

ISKCON Food Relief Foundation (Annamrita) Gurgaon Kitchen Visit   Nowadays it is fashionable to self certify ourselves as Traveler, Photographer, Wanderer, Connosieur of arts, an aficionado of God knows what and Foodie, etc.  I have always taken these claims ( including my own that I may have uttered in a carb-induced coma) with a pinch of salt and some red hot chili peppers.  While in today’s hedonistic times’ food has been trivialized to a social media post clicked to perfection, totally forgetting our sacred tradition of food being Naivedya meaning’ Offering to God’. Even today in most Indian homes food [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

The Blogchatter Writing Retreat At Taj Gateway Resort Damdama Gurgaon

What I learned at The Blogchatter Retreat At Taj Gateway Damdama Gurgaon First things first as most of you will know I am not big on joining blogging seminars etc. as I am not much of a networking type. I have attended a few of them and mostly end up feeling totally out of place. So when Richa the founder of Blogchatter invited me to join for the Blogchatter Retreat at Taj Gateway Resort in Damdama Gurgaon, I was kind of skeptical. Anyways long story short thanks to the persuasive powers that Richa enjoys and the fact that the agenda [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Gurgaon Food Freak & Gurgaon Home Chefs show a way of Community Service

Community Service using power of Social Media I first liked the idea of a chef when Richard Gere, tells Winona Ryder in “Autumn in New York” “Food is the only art that nurtures from within” or something similar for my memory is not what it used to be. Anyways if you are still here or back from searching for Winona Ryder let us get back to the blog post about “Home Chefs of Gurgaon” and the good work they are doing in more ways than one. So ever since that unforgettable dialogue in the totally forgettable movie,” Autumn In [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

A Morning Drive to Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary & The Last Sarson Ke Khet of Gurgaon

The last of Sarson Ke Khet Near Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary That I regularly go bird watching at  Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary near Gurgaon is old news. While I enjoy bird watching there with my friends and family at Sultanpur, each visit also now makes me a bit sad. As we approach the Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary and the Basai Wetlands that are on the way, the thoughts about future of these birding heavens make me gloomy because of the future of the Sanctuary, as well as the Basai Wetlands, is not secure. For me, the visit to nature is all about the ecosystem, [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Sunset in Gurgaon

The Wrong Turn To The Right Sunset   Sometimes the wrong turn can be the right turn, just by chance.  On a recent trip to Chikamagalur where I was shooting Mercedes-Benz for a blogging assignment, I accidentally hit my lens to a tree. Luckily the lens hood too the hit and the main body did not have any damage. I was clicking with same lens for months now without any issue. But today I was alone at home with nothing to do so I thought why not get the rubber ring on the lens replaced as it has become [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]
