   The Superhero Of Pochampally Some time back I was in Bhoodan Pochampally Village, near Hyderabad. the main purpose of the visit was to meet and click pictures of some weavers who make the beautiful Pochampally sareers. While we were moving around the village which is a photographer’s delight and almost every corner offers some photo opportunity. What is the significance of Red color in India ?   Red is a very auspicious color in Indian culture. From the red saree that the bride wears on her wedding day to the red bangles, red sindoor that married Hindu women put in the parting of hair red is everywhere. A Joy Ride in a Coracle  in Nagarjuna Sagar Coracles ( singular- Coracle) or the round boats have been around for millenniums, Julius Caesar found the English using them during his invasion.  And while the indigenous shipbuilding industry in India was slowly decimated by the British, ( probably as an act of revenge to supply ships to American Navy for the British American war in 1812.  A little-known fact: American national anthem was written on a ship made by the Wadia Family of India) still the art of making Coracles survived.     This  picture was taken last year during the Bonalu festival in Secunderabad Mahakali Temple.  I was there as part of a photo-walk organised by Hyderabad weekend shoots, one of the most active photography groups in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.  Read more about Bonalu here.     My first photo-walk with HWS was to Gudimalkapur Flower Market in Hyderabad. Buddhist Museum On Nagarjunakonda Island

A visit to Buddhist Museum On Nagarjunakonda Island in Nagarjuna Sagar As written in an earlier post we took the boat to Nagarjunakonda island to visit the Buddhist museum on Nagarjunakonda island.
