Gudimalkapur Flower Market- Morning Ragas with Colors  Photography ka keeda is slowly spreading in my mind-body and soul and I visited Gudimalkapur flower market early morning to see some action with flowers. A Visit To Mruguvani National Park for Birdwatching  Recently I went again to Mrugavani National Park in the morning,  I got up without an alarm at 7 am on Sunday and thinking this is some divine sign decided to hit the road. It is only about 5 km from our home and is one of the last surviving green lungs for the city of Nizams. It is approachable both from Mehdipattnam via Lunger House and Hitech City via Outer ring road on the way to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport Shamshabad. You take exit 18 on the airport highway on the Vikarabad [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Purple Sunbird is not Hummingbird

Hummingbird vs Sunbird in India As mentioned in the earlier post I was able to capture the hummingbird or more accurately the purple sunbird in the camera.  Why I say Sunbird is that Hummingbirds are only naturally found in the Americas, what we have in India are Sunbirds. They seem to have developed independently and as their habitat and feeding habits are similar they look and behave very similar to each other. But scientifically there are no Hummingbirds found in India or Asia for that matter.  I am totally amazed at the way nature works. Two continents separated by thousands [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Birds Around PBEL II

But I was lucky again and caught the Indian Bulbul and a Pied Bushchat enjoying a worm.  The Early Bird Catches The Worm I will continue to try to shoot the Hummingbird, any suggestions on camera settings would be welcome. Essence Of Old Hyderabad

We are getting  more and more alienated with our roots and forgetting our heritage, so every once in a while I get a bug to visit old city of Hyderabad to connect to the glorious past of the city. So this Saturday with a group  of TCPC  shutterbugs we decided to visit the old city behind the  Salarjung museum. The meeting point was Darush Shifa Jamia Masjid which has  pure white  presence in sea of color around it. I have never been in this part of the city and was very excited about the visit.  The group leader Rahul [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Bird watching in Hyderabad At ICRISAT- part II

We again visited ICRISAT campus with Purushotham Rudraraju  who was leading the GHAC group. ICRISAT is one of the best places for Bird Watching in Hyderabad. Today was not a very successful day from clicking photographs of the birds point of view even though we spotted 50+ species of the birds in the ICRISAT Campus. The lake that was brimming with water last month was almost empty and most of the water birds have already left. The branches of the tree that used to bend due to the weight of the birds was mostly deserted. Hopefully this year we will [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Hiking in Peerancheru Boulders

Today in the morning I went for hiking in Peerancheru boulders near our apartment with a GHAC group. My wife was kind enough to make a cup of tea for me at 6 am in the morning.  We both had the tea together and then I left for the meeting point with the GHAC group that was coming.  We started the day with the introduction round by forming the circle and Shraddha the group leader gave instructions like: ·         No littering, ·         No talking loudly or disturbing any birds or animals in area ·         No breaking away from the group etc. Under [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]
