Hiking To The Birth Place of Hanuman Near Hampi The Birthplace of Hanuman Temple This is the third post on Hampi with TCPC As we were staying on the Kishkindha side of Tungabhadra, day one was dedicated to exploring the various temples in the area. This part is called Anegundi and is believed to be the capital of empire before Hampi rose to prominence.  Is it not amazing how many towns and cities have had their share of being the capital of a mighty empire and you had to fight mighty armies to reach them, and yet today they [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

A Night At Taramati Baradari Resort Hyderabad

A Night spent at Taramati Baradari Resort Hyderabad with our kids Once your kids start going to school you have to plan your holidays as per their school calendar. For some time our elder one has been going to school even on Saturdays thus we were not able to take any jaunts with kids that we typically do now and then. So a few weeks ago I decided to go for a short vacation but just did not have time or energy to go on a long drive, so we decided to stay for a night at the Taramati [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Cactus Flowers-Blooms of the thorns

A marvel of nature-Cactus Flowers Very often I have been accused of being surrounded by thorns and branded somebody who is surrounded by inauspicious things not recommended by Vastu at all because of my love for growing Cacti. We all know Desi Traveler loves to travel and travel is a demanding mistress, thus at times I would be away [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

desi Goes for Half Day Tour of Hong Kong What is it with travel that makes you addicted? Is it the new places you discover? Or is it the small treasures you keep on accumulating from one flea market in a distant town to another? Or is it the bragging rights one gets for the number of vivid stamps on the passport? We decided to go and welcome 2012 in Coorg in Karnataka. I wrote about the same in my earlier posts. This post is less about the trip and more about how we almost got cheated by the cab driver. Since we live in Hyderabad and Coorg is much closer to Bangalore, I requested a dear friend Vibhor to help me with cab booking, so that the cab can take us to Coorg and stay with us for the rest of trip and drop us back to the airport after 4 days. Vibhor was kind enough to book a cab [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Yes I am talking about the incident that happened on Indigo airlines  last week http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/hyderabad/Pilot-offloads-passenger-for-saying-get-lost/articleshow/11609050.cms Is this not strange the passenger was not  drunk, did not threatened anybody, did not possessed any weapons or banned substances and even offered an apology to the Pilot on  discovering that the pilot is upset because he was not given the right of way. So [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]
