Cut your food bill: Plant a garden
I have myself tried growing tomatoes in past successfully. I must say the tomatoes were much more juicy and tasty than anything I have bought in a store. I am seriously thinking of starting an herb garden. I am sure the Missus will be happy to see some leaves as our current Botanical adventures are limited to Cacti and Succulents, started as an approach to be frugal with water and yet enjoy the beautiful plants. Check some of mine and some friends cacti plants here. Hopefully I will be able to post some pics of the food grown in my little balcony soon.
Thanks for reading, watch this space for some experiments with growing herbs.

Curious as to what came out of the herb garden plan? 🙂
Hi Subho… been able to grow some Tulsi both green and black, Aloe Vera, Green Chillies, trying tomatoes. Failed in growing mint even after many tries…
The Cacti collection is impressive. Obviously lot of work and tender care has gone into it. Lovely flowers too. wonderful.
I had seen so many flowers on Cacti, in Kalimpong!
Thanks, Vetrimagal. You have a very interesting blog. As a city bred Indian there is a lot for me in it. Will keep on checking the same.
This is fun. Growing can be very interesting, if one has the time and small space.
I also grow vegetables, and it is fun , to say that last six months, I had not bought tomatoes, and brinjal , the market!now cabbages are awaiting harvest.
