How Many Tigers Are There in India ?  If you ask this question to 2316 people you will get 2316 different answers. The NGOs will try to give the smallest possible number and the forest officials will try to give the largest possible number as both have their own reasons directly related to funding, promotion, media miles etc. But the reasons are not difficult to find as to why we do not have the exact number.   Karnataka Forest Department Rest House- Staying in the middle of Bandipur Tiger Reserve As part of our training for the Eco Volunteer Training program jointly organized by Karnataka Forest department, Eco Tourism Development board of Karnataka and Jungle lodges and resorts we had two options of stay: Stay in absolutely beautiful  and bordering luxurious JLR resort and pay around 17 thousand Rupees Stay in absolutely beautiful but basic Forest department residential complex in Bandipur Tiger reserve and pay around 4800 Rs. Drive to Srisailam Temple and nearby tourist attractions Located just about 250 Km from Hyderabad is the small hill town of Srisailam, famous for the Srisailam or Mallikaarjun swami (Siva) temple. It is one of the 12 Jyortilingams and one of the few where shaktipeeth (mother goddess) is also present at same place. We decided to take a road trip in car to Srisailam.
