In the next image, Arti S, author of ” My Yatra Diary” needs no introduction, and shares her image for mothers day, her soulful words, a mystical image with a golden sunset pays a poetic homage to ” Ganga Maiya” as we desis call the Holy Ganges. Also, don’t forget to visit her blog besides Instagram for some spiritual as well as real world journeys. Especially check the weekly series – Soulie Saturday

Gushes of wind danced and swirled around her, making her look so ethereal and other worldly. I sat in awe; letting my hand in, into her icy cold waters and felt like a child being taken into her mother’s arms to be held gently against her breasts. Ah! ‘Ganga Maiyya’ was beautiful. As the last rays of the sun fell on her, illuminating through the mountains, I closed my eyes and prayed for her loving benediction and inner strength and power. The setting sun ceased to be just that but became the veil, her aanchal with which she was shielding me from the noisy and frightening world outside. In her arms, I felt safe. I felt one with her, with my own nature. Those moments with Mother… they were assuring, her gaze which constantly told me that Lord Shiva was guiding over me in all my trials and tribulations so there wasn’t any room for worries. Today, I salute and pay my respects to her in spirit, for I know, I may be miles apart, but I always have the mighty divine force of mother to protect me no matter where I am. ____________________________________ This post is inspired by #desiTraveler 's ongoing series #MerePassMaanHai wherein the highly talented travel blogger and photographer Prasad Np, as celebration of Mother's day, is capturing the essence of mother-daughter bond through his heart's eye.
