Our next image is from Dipanwiita a solo traveler.  She shares this mystical image of a  Shivaling from Harishchandragad in the Western Ghats. Harishchandragad was one of the prominent forts during the Maratha rule and is now a popular hiking destination from Mumbai and Pune.

Home to one of the oldest architectural gems, Harishchandragad is a place where I find peace. A place where I can unwind and the best place to remain cut out cz cellphone networks don't reach to its top... . The Harishchandreshwar temple was built in 11th century as per Hemadpanthi architectural style. There are only 8 Hemadpanthi temples in entire Maharashtra that survive today... . This tiny shivling is one of the many shivlings that you would get to see on the erstwhile hill Fort... One needs to trek all the way to the top to witness its splendour... . #maharashtra #india #trekking #hiking #sahyadris #westernghats #heritagesite #wanderlust #wanderers #femalesolotraveler #travelblogger #lonelyplanet #natgeotravel #natgeotravellerindia #lonelyplanetindia #trippyowl #instatravel #outdoors #treksandtrails #harishchandragad #trekkers #desitraveler
