What To Shop In Ajmer Sharif Rajasthan

A desi Guide on What to buy in Ajmer Sharif Rajasthan No desi Trip is complete without some shopping, even if I don’t buy too many things, I just love to have a look in shops to find out what my desi brothers and sisters ( or may be more of sisters) are buying. Our visit Ajmer Sharif Dargah was no exception from a shopping point of view and as always I learnt a few things on this trip to Ajmer while shopping in Ajmer Sharif also. Now Ajmer Sharif is a major pilgrimage center visited by followers of Hazrat Khwaja [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

A Resort in an Airport: Koh Samui ( USM )

Why I liked Koh Samui Airport and you too would   The moment I got my Visa on Arrival at Suvarnabhumi airport we rushed towards our connecting flight to Koh Samui a tropical island in the Gulf of Thailand. It is a short flight from Bangkok and soon the land gave way to turquoise waters of Gulf of Thailand below and the azure heavens above us. The clouds were playing hide and seek and from the height of 30000 + feet Bangkok Airlines jet was flying, it was tough to say where the kingdom of Zeus ended and the [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

First blog post from recent trip to Koh Samui, Ayutthaya and Bangkok in Amazing Thailand   Amazing Thailand is a very special place for me as it was here that me and Missus traveled first time out of India on our honeymoon, many moons ago.  In all these years many things have changed in Thailand from a traveler’s perspective, mostly for better. Recently I was in Thailand once again though all alone this time on  invitation of Tourism Authority of Thailand. While I work on thousands of pictures that I clicked though mobile as well as my DSLR, let [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Anti Poaching Camp - Patrolling Bandipur National Park

A Night In Anti Poaching Camp Bandipur National Park Acres of  marigold fields glowing in the evening sun waved at us from the other side of a  solar fence that  separated the jungle from the fields, as we drove towards the anti poaching camp in Bandipur National Park. When I did my first phase of Eco Volunteer training with Karnataka Forest department and  Jungle Lodges and Resorts, I wrote about the short visit we made to the Anti Poaching camp in the jungle where tourists are not allowed. As part of the training in second phase we stayed overnight at [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Johnson Lodge Manali- Hotel Review

A review of Johnson Lodge in Manali, Himachal Pradesh I am not much of a hotel reviewer even though for many years I lived out of hotels and slowly became immune to them, only caring about Wi Fi, paid or free.  But once in a while you come across a hotel that is like they say “It’s Different” So recently I was in Manali and stayed at Johnson Lodge on Circuit House road, for two nights once while going to Spiti to get used to high altitude to avoid AMS, and next on the return trip while waiting for [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Kondapur Botanical Garden With GHAC Nature

A Morning Visit to Kondapur Botanical Garden with GHAC Nature I had participated in the  first bird watching trip organized by GHAC long back, it was in Kondapur botanical garden, Hyderabad, at that  point the botanical garden was not in very good shape due to extreme summer.  Sunbird Enjoying Nectar I was pleasantly surprised when we visited again with GHAC nature in the morning. Gudimalkapur Flower Market Hyderabad

Gudimalkapur Flower Market- Morning Ragas with Colors  Photography ka keeda is slowly spreading in my mind-body and soul and I visited Gudimalkapur flower market early morning to see some action with flowers. A little history first-I had thought that I had overcome it after I mothballed my film Nikon and after that every single point and shoot camera that we had been monopolized by our daughter. But then I read about Nikon D7000 and got hooked again. Not that I am very good at photography I just point and shoot and then pray that the subject would have understood [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Valentines Day-What gift to choose?

The Valentines day is coming and that brings my annual agony to forefront once again. I have never been able to understand what the fuss is all about both to celebrate it as well as to oppose it. It is definitely not an Indian festival or for that matter even a festival, it is a 100% marketing noise created by card and candy companies. But if people are willing to spend money to claim their love for somebody then why do some political parties have objection to it? They should first teach a few lessons on morality to their [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]
