Long ago Columbus uncle started in search of India but reached America, so much for missing the target and getting famous. Any ways I am not sure if he ever discovered that he has never discovered India but a continent that was so far not known to the western world. It is believed that Chinese sailors have reached America before Columbus and also some Viking Warriors. Any ways the credit was given to Columbus and the native Americans were named Indians as everybody thought they are in India. Some time I get a feeling that probably there is a strong relationship between the [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

My hair care routine  has been pretty basic all my life, I will get up in the morning take a shower and use the soap itself to wash hair, look in the mirror and if the hair were still there, I  will comb them with my hands and yo! I am ready to conquer the world. Alas it was not to last forever. Everything changed the day I met the would be Mrs. Prasad. Well to cut long story short at a young age I had developed white hair at that too above and around the ears that added [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Colors Of Bonalu-A Unique Festival of Telangana India

Bonalu A Unique Festival Of Telangana Colors mesmerize me, be it the rainbows formed due to interfaith hugging of green and vermilion gulal with purple water sprouting out of pichkaris on holi or the rainbow formed in the puddles in monsoon. Little Girl With Bonalu Hyderabad is one of the most colorful cities in the country perhaps rivaled only by Jaipur, which obviously has a bias towards pink. But Hyderabad has no such bias it loves all its colors the black burqas of Khatoons from the old city to the Ochre dupattas and multicolored mangal sutras of Marwari ladies shopping in begum [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Cactus Flowers

What can be better than a beautiful flower on a cactus plant? Well read on. The Twins Another View Of The Twins While I was still enjoying the photo of the ethereal cactus flower, the plant was slowly using its reserves to work on two small buds. A couple of days ago the buds suddenly became very big in size and we had 2 extremely beautiful flowers blooming together. Thus we had a double bonanza with two flowers on the same day on the plant. This year has been especially good for this one as it has bloomed three [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Cactus Flowers-Blooms of the thorns

A marvel of nature-Cactus Flowers Very often I have been accused of being surrounded by thorns and branded somebody who is surrounded by inauspicious things not recommended by Vastu at all because of my love for growing Cacti. With all due respect to the traditions and the intelligence of people who brand me “Thorny” (thank god T is not silent here) let me give a reason for my love for Cacti and Cactus flowers is only one of them. We all know Desi Traveler loves to travel and travel is a demanding mistress, thus at times I would be away [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Birds Around PBEL City - The Lake Front

Typical human tendency is to go to exotic locations and totally ignore things that are around us. If I have to quote a hindi saying then….. ” Ghar Kee Murgee Daal Barabar” . This has been the case with me I have been going to various bird watching tours in city and to various national parks and mostly ignoring the Peerancheru lake right next to our home in PBEL City.  A Flock of Geese Take Off On Spotting Me Stork In Flight Greater Coucal So some time back when I had some time to kill and the sun was [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

A Musical Evening With Ghatam Karthick

Ghatam Dr. S. Karthick When every single day you hear about the competition between Sheila Kee Jawani and Munni Kee Badnamee, only to be toppled by Chammak Challo kind of songs, you just wish that songs simply do not have vocals but only the beats. It was pleasant surprise when I received an Invitation from PBEL City to attend an evening with Hydourite, where Ghatam maestro Dr. Karthickwas performing. Hydourite has been coined from “My Hyderabad My favourite” and will be used as a platform to orgnaize various events in Hyderabad to showcase and celebrate the spirit, heritage, tehzeeb and future of [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]
