The Royal White Tigers of Hyderabad Zoo

Pictures of White Tiger from Hyderabad Zoo Park As mentioned in the earlier post on Hyderabad Zoo, we totally missed seeing the White Tiger, as the line to go to that special area was bigger than line for a blockbuster movie.  It seems as a country our obsession with White color  is not limited to humans but also goes for tigers. While the normal tiger is highly endangered in Jungles and wild life sanctuaries of India, Zoos are trying to out-breed each other for the whites. I think a bit of information about White Tigers, should put things in [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Human Chain around The Old Baobab Tree Or Kalpavriksha of Hyderabad

Save Old Baobab Tree or Kalpavriksha Of Hyderabad India Have you ever hugged a tree? Well once again early morning I visited the Old Baobab tree with some nature lovers from GHAC Nature. We were planning to form a human chain and hug the Old Baobab tree also known as Kalpavriksha, believed to be brought on earth by Lord Krishna from Heaven, from the garden of Indra the king of devtas or gods. Well it seems the tree that was once associated with gods is now facing a battle for survival like I mentioned in the earlier post. Fortunately [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Hyderabad Zoo - Famous for Tigers and other animals

A Family Picnic at Hyderabad Zoo Park When I came back from Tadoba National Park in Maharashtra, the kids were first very happy to see the pictures and Video of Tigers. But soon they realized what they have missed, hence the demand to take them to Hyderabad Zoo and show the tigers started.  Now we have been to the Hyderabad Zoo earlier so I was not very keen to go. So I looked towards Missus for some support, but she had totally conspired with the kids, and I had a feeling she was the one who planted the seeds [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

We are all responsible for Uttarakhand Floods 2013 Uttarakhand floods 2013, have left hundreds dead and destroyed whole towns, soon the blame game will begin with everybody trying to take political mileage out of the plight of stranded tourists and locals. As thousands lay stranded in the flood ravaged upper reaches of Uttarakhand, near the holy shrine of Kedarnath  and Guptakashi, we city folks are watching it on idiot box and doing our bit by cursing the politicians and babus. But let us stop for a moment and do a bit of introspection also. Let us go back to our class [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Trekking In Himalayas- Bollywood Style

Bollywood Style Trekking in Himalayas-Jara Hatke Review of Movie Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani So we watched Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani. Before you ask let me clarify this is not a movie review of the movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. The movie is actually pretty good and we enjoyed watching it, once I asked both my right and left brain to take a hike in the Himalayas marching left right left right. You see that is where my problem begins. I have absolutely no issue with parts of the movie being absolutely filmy. I don’t care if Deepika Padukone wears a [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Hyderabad Polo And Riding Club

Equine Photography Meets Passionate Rider and Horse Lover Ashok Ramam Sanku started horse riding to fulfill his love for Horses and Equine photography. He is one of the few photographers in India who want to specialize in Equine Photography.  Read his account of how he got hooked to Horses and Equine photography, directly from the horses, I mean the photographers mouth. Many people think that Equine photography and Polo photography are the same but both are two different streams, Equine photography deals with the horse portraits, activities and sometimes their interaction and intimacy with people. Equine photography is more [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Telia Tiger Cub in Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve

Telia Tiger Cub  Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve- A dip in Lake Recently on a visit to Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve ( TATR), we saw this female tiger cub sitting just a few meters away from path in the shade. We stopped our jeep and started taking her pictures. She was feeling hot and walked right in front of us to take a dip in the Telia Lake. After soaking in water for about half  hour, she majestically got up and walked right in front of me back into the bushes, walking past the motorcycle of a forest guard who [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Weekly Photo Challenge: Change

This is my first entry for Weekly Photo Challenge with the Theme Change. Change has many meanings as per the zen masters Change is the only constant. So here is my first entry for the Weekly Photo challenge :   I am putting here a picture of a male sparrow with a feather in  his beak. Watching Flamingos In Gandipet Lake Hyderabad, India

Watching Flamingos At Gandipet Lake in Hyderabad, India   Recently we went to look for Flamingos in Gandipet or Osman Sagar one of the bigger lakes among the lakes encircling Hyderabad, some of these lakes are natural and others were specially made or enlarged during the reign of the Nizams to ensure water security. Over period lakes like Gandipet, Manjeera, Pocharam, Ameenpur, Shamirpet, Peerancheru etc have become a natural sanctuary of local as well as migrant birds. These visits were part of a GHAC Nature club and we visited Gandipet Lake twice in last one month. My main purpose was to [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]
