Incredible India

India Travel Blog with travel tips, stories, food and pictures of travel around India. There is so much to experience in Incredible India that one life time is just not enough. No wonder we Indians believe in reincarnation so that we can visit India again and again to cherish the billion things India has to offer from  Ghats of Varanasi to beaches of Goa and the Colors of Rajasthan to the fragrance of spices in Gods own country Kerala.  Even after visiting more than 22 states in India, I have not seen even the tip of iceberg. I continue to explore my country and share my experiences of Incredible India on my family travel blog from India as we explore one place at a time by road, by trains and by flying to the various corners of India. Come join me on this incredible Journey in Incredible India from the the snow clad Ladakh in Himalayas to the french enclave of Pondicherry in south as we go covering India from festivals to food and everything in between.

Mouth Watering Savouries I brought from Punjab My biggest joy of being a travel blogger is interacting with other bloggers and look at the world from their eyes.  I have been fortunate to discover some wonderful travel writers and photographers during my journey as a travel blogger and have been fortunate enough to collaborate with some of them.  So I was very happy when Chaitali Patel who pens Maps Stamps Memories  asked me to contribute a post about ” Food souvenirs From Punjab”, I jumped at the opportunity and recollected my Roadtrip to Punjab last year and what all I [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Gurgaon Food Freak & Gurgaon Home Chefs show a way of Community Service

Community Service using power of Social Media I first liked the idea of a chef when Richard Gere, tells Winona Ryder in “Autumn in New York” “Food is the only art that nurtures from within” or something similar for my memory is not what it used to be. Anyways if you are still here or back from searching for Winona Ryder let us get back to the blog post about “Home Chefs of Gurgaon” and the good work they are doing in more ways than one. So ever since that unforgettable dialogue in the totally forgettable movie,” Autumn In [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

National Rail Museum Delhi

Clicking  History of Indian Railways with Mobile Phone National Rail Museum in Chanakya Puri, is such a hidden gem of Delhi that literally thousands past just next to it every day yet few visit it.  Nestled in the diplomatic hub of Delhi, just off the tony Shanti Path, right next to Embassy of Bhutan is this gem of a museum where one of the most important unifying forces of India, as we know today, is on display. With my ever-increasing fascination for trains, I am not sure how many times I have been to National Rail Museum in Chanakya Puri, [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Naropa Festival Leh 2016 – ‘The Kumbh Mela of the Himalayas’

Naropa Festival Leh the right reason to visit Ladakh in 2016 First thing first- Irrespective of  the label you restrict yourself to – Traveler, Tourist, Pilgrim, Solo, Group, Family, Gali-Mohalla or Panchayati traveler please do yourself a favor and stop saying, shouting  and /or wishing “ I want to get Lehed” “ Finally I got Lehed after dreaming about it ever since I saw 3 Idiots ” And then there are those who visit a slightly so called off beat destination where only locals normally go and then beat their chest like King Kong on Empire States Building – “ I [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Rath Yatra Puri : A Divine Festival of India

Where The Divine Travels: Rath Yatra Puri The map only showed that Puri is on the sea shore of Bay of Bengal, there was no mention of the ocean of humanity that submerges the city of Lord Jagannath every year. As per legend every year Lord Jagannath and his siblings Balbhadra and Subhadra visit their aunts’ home. The journey happens on three temples chariots pulled by devotees.  When I reached the main square where Raths were getting final touches, more than the size of the Chariots I am overwhelmed by humanity around me.  It seems the world has congregated [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

So Delhi Confluence at The Lalit

The Good, the bad and the best of So Delhi Confluence at The Lalit Delhi Blogging as a creative medium and career choice is still evolving in India. Blogging as a career option is still trying to find its feet on the ground with only a handful of bloggers in India making decent money from blogging. Now, this always makes me a bit uncomfortable as I never started blogging with the intention of making money. I still do not make much money blogging, [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Road Trip to Bhagamandala Temple & Tala Cauvery in Coorg

Road Trip to Tala Cauvery Origin of River Kaveri in Coorg Most hill stations in India came into existence because of Sahib log during Raj wanting to escape the heat & dust during desi summers. Not so Coorg, it has been a flourishing Kingdom much before that, proudly inhabited by the brave and nature loving Kodava people. My introduction to Coorg was through Hindi translation of Chikavira Rajendra, by Maasthi Venkatesha Iyengar, the masterpiece that takes you through the turbulent times of the last king of Madikeri. Ever since then I have tried to go and soak in the experience of the Coorg the [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

What happens on a Goa Beach ?- Family Beach Activity Guide

What to do at Goa Beaches?  Adventure & Water Sports in Goa My first visit to Goa on a hot summer day was in double-breasted suit; a serpent-like twin tongued tie wrapped around my itchy neck and a laptop in tow. But once I visited the beach of the Taj Fort Aguada, where I was staying I vowed to rip off my tie, burn the suit and move to Goa. In due course, the tie was peeled off, the suits dusted, dry-cleaned, mothballed and hidden in closets that were locked and marked -” Never To Be Opened” The dream [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]
