I continue to explore my country and share my experiences of Incredible India on my family travel blog from India as we explore one place at a time by road, by trains and by flying to the various corners of India. Save Old Baobab Tree or Kalpavriksha Of Hyderabad India Have you ever hugged a tree? Well once again early morning I visited the Old Baobab tree with some nature lovers from GHAC Nature. We were planning to form a human chain and hug the Old Baobab tree also known as Kalpavriksha, believed to be brought on earth by Lord Krishna from Heaven, from the garden of Indra the king of devtas or gods. Well it seems the tree that was once associated with gods is now facing a battle for survival like I mentioned in the earlier post. Fortunately [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Hyderabad Zoo - Famous for Tigers and other animals

A Family Picnic at Hyderabad Zoo Park When I came back from Tadoba National Park in Maharashtra, the kids were first very happy to see the pictures and Video of Tigers. But soon they realized what they have missed, hence the demand to take them to Hyderabad Zoo and show the tigers started.  Now we have been to the Hyderabad Zoo earlier so I was not very keen to go. So I looked towards Missus for some support, but she had totally conspired with the kids, and I had a feeling she was the one who planted the seeds [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

We are all responsible for Uttarakhand Floods 2013 Uttarakhand floods 2013, have left hundreds dead and destroyed whole towns, soon the blame game will begin with everybody trying to take political mileage out of the plight of stranded tourists and locals. As thousands lay stranded in the flood ravaged upper reaches of Uttarakhand, near the holy shrine of Kedarnath  and Guptakashi, we city folks are watching it on idiot box and doing our bit by cursing the politicians and babus. But let us stop for a moment and do a bit of introspection also. Let us go back to our class [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Sitaram Bagh Temple Celebrates its 180 Years

180 Year Celebrations of Sitaram Bagh Temple Hyderabad Surrounded by gnarled, but majestic Tamarind and Mango trees in  Mangalghat  a busy suburb in Hyderabad I discovered the 180 year old Sitaram Bagh Temple, founded by Ganeriwal family  180 years ago.  I visited the temple as part of a HWS team to click pictures of the celebrations of 180 years of establishing the temple in Hyderabad, which was ruled by Nizams during those days.  I think their cannot be a better example of secular traditions of Hyderabad that the temple was given a Jagir (land ) by the Nizam to [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]

Birla Temple Naubat Pahad Hyderabad

Birla Temple Hyderabad I have never been a very religious type, always bracketing myself as more of a spiritual being than religious. But still I go to a lot of temples, Gurudwaras, Churches and Dargahs. My aim is always to try to capture the essence of the place which normally is bigger than just the religious emotions places of worship evoke.  One of the reasons I love going to Temples is their Historical significance and the wonderful photo opportunity they offer to a travel blogger, not just of the temple but also of the streets and people in and [Continue Reading By Clicking Here…]
